The contemporary circus and street arts festival in the Frusinate area, between Anagni and Sgurgola
Circus Zone is the contemporary circus and street arts festival that has become one of the most anticipated summer events in the province of Frosinone. Born in Sgurgola, a small village in the Ciociaria region, the event has grown with each edition to become a cultural landmark for the entire Frusinate territory, in the heart of the Lazio Region.
The fifth edition, held in June 2026, marked a significant milestone: for the first time, the festival crossed the borders of Sgurgola to embrace the nearby town of Anagni, the famous "City of Popes" in the Municipality of Anagni. The squares and alleys of both towns were transformed into one large open-air stage, treating the public to four evenings of spectacle, imagination, and participation.
The program for each evening accompanies spectators from aperitif time until late at night, with a building rhythm of circus performances, comedy sketches, magic tricks, and live music. The stars of the 2026 edition were two Italian contemporary circus troupes, ArteMakìa and Circo 42, who captivated the audience with different yet equally engaging styles, featuring acrobatics, vibrant colors, and high-impact scenic moments.
Conceived by Dr. Alberto Longo and promoted by the C.P.C.C.L. with the support of the Ministry of Culture and the collaboration of the local Pro Loco associations, Circus Zone pursues a clear vision of performance: high-quality popular entertainment, accessible to everyone, capable of turning streets and squares into dreamlike settings. The success of 2026 paved the way for an even more ambitious project, the Festival Circus Mundi — The Dreaming City, which has involved other towns in the province of Frosinone since September under the patronage of the Lazio Region.
Visiting Circus Zone is also the perfect opportunity to discover Anagni, one of the most fascinating medieval villages in Lazio, and the authentic Ciociaria of small towns like Sgurgola. It is a setting where live performance engages with the history, alleys, and traditions of a territory rich in identity.
The fifth edition of Circus Zone took place on June 24, 25, 27, and 28, 2026, expanding for the first time to the Municipality of Anagni in addition to the historic town of Sgurgola. The two towns in the province of Frosinone were transformed into an open-air stage for four evenings of entertainment.
The stars of the edition were the contemporary circus companies ArteMakìa and Circo 42, which presented performances filled with acrobatics, comedy, magic tricks, and live music. A building rhythm accompanied the audience from aperitif time until late at night, amidst colors and moments of great scenic impact.
Anagni and Sgurgola are located in the province of Frosinone, in the Lazio region. By car, they can be reached via the A1 Rome-Naples motorway, taking the Anagni-Fiuggi exit. By train, the reference station is Anagni-Fiuggi, on the Rome-Cassino line, with bus connections to the historic centers.
Performances take place in the evening, starting from aperitif time, in the squares of both municipalities. The event is designed as a popular spectacle accessible to all. It is recommended to check the updated dates and program on the official channels of the municipal administrations and the Pro Loco associations.
