The film season at the Municipal Cinema of Ossana in Val di Sole
The Cinema Ossana is the film program hosted at the Cinema Teatro Comunale, a historic venue located in the village of Fucine, in the municipality of Ossana, in the province of Trento (Trentino-Alto Adige). In an alpine valley where cinemas are increasingly rare, this cultural hub serves as a vital landmark for both the residents of Val di Sole and the many tourists visiting during peak seasons.
The schedule is divided into two distinct periods. The winter season, running between February and March, showcases recent first-run films with screenings on weekends. The summer season, held between July and August, shifts its focus toward families and vacationers, featuring animated films for children, international blockbusters, and the Estate al Cinema (Summer at the Cinema) festival, which pairs major titles with mountain documentaries.
A distinctive feature of the Ossana venue is its collaboration with the Trento Film Festival, the world's oldest event dedicated to mountain and exploration cinema. Through the TFF365 project, which extends the festival beyond its main dates, the Municipal Cinema hosts screenings focused on mountaineering, the environment, and high-altitude culture, often with free admission and international documentaries rarely seen elsewhere.
The Cinema Teatro Comunale in Fucine is managed by the Municipality of Ossana. It features a raked seating area, facilities designed for people with disabilities, and an intimate atmosphere reminiscent of classic village cinemas. Screenings typically take place at 5:30 PM and 9:00 PM, with afternoons primarily reserved for family-friendly films.
The season maintains an accessible pricing policy, with full-price tickets at 8 euros and a reduced rate of 5 euros for Ossana residents, seniors over 65, and children up to 12 years old. The Estate al Cinema festival offers a flat reduced rate to encourage families and tourists to enjoy the cinema during their holidays.
From July 11 to August 2, 2026, the Municipal Cinema of Ossana offers a program designed for families and vacationers, with screenings at 5:30 PM and 9:00 PM in the Fucine hall.
Between February 7 and March 15, the venue hosted first-run films, including Nuremberg, The Grace by Paolo Sorrentino, Wuthering Heights, The Unspoken Things by Gabriele Muccino, We'll Work When We're Grown Up by Antonio Albanese, and the animated film Jumpers - A Leap Among Animals.
