The big screen under the stars of Pinerolo
When summer arrives in Pinerolo, the screen lights up outdoors. Cinema in Piazza is the summer film festival under the stars that brings the Area Spettacoli Corelli on Via Dante to life, in the heart of the town in the Province of Turin, at the foot of the Pinerolo valleys. It is more than just a series of screenings: it is a festival that, through cinematic storytelling, seeks to highlight themes relevant to our daily lives, offering a journey around the world, film after film.
The 2026 edition features twenty national and international titles, scheduled every Monday and Wednesday from June 15 to August 18. The program ranges from auteur cinema to comedies, balanced to satisfy diverse audiences: those looking for major festival hits and those simply wanting a lighthearted evening outdoors.
The heart of this edition is a special focus dedicated to female directors: eight films are directed by women exploring themes such as the environment, peace, and civil rights. This choice gives a voice to perspectives that are often underrepresented and turns cinema into a tool for collective reflection as well as entertainment.
Cinema in Piazza is, above all, an opportunity to come together. The festival is born from the collaboration between the City of Pinerolo and the Associazione Culturale Zampanò, with the support of the Piedmont Region and the involvement of local entities such as ARCI Valle Susa-Pinerolo, UCCA, and Emergency. Many evenings are accompanied by meetings, guests, and initiatives related to the social themes of the films screened.
Among the new features is the collaboration with CineRide, which invites spectators to reach the arena by bicycle, turning the journey into a small collective gesture of respect for the environment and urban space. A detail that perfectly captures the spirit of the event: quality cinema, but also a focus on sustainability and city life.
