The summer White Night in the village of The Leopard, featuring music, cabaret, and street art
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Ciminna White Night is one of the premier summer events in the municipality of Ciminna, a small village in the Madonie hinterland in the province of Palermo, Sicily. For an entire night, the town's historic center transforms into a vast, open-air stage: streets, alleys, and squares fill with music, shows, lights, and the aromas of local cuisine, with crowds staying out until dawn.
Ciminna is known throughout the island for being one of the sets for Luchino Visconti's film The Leopard: the Matrice district, the Mother Church, and the bell tower serve as a natural backdrop for the event. During the White Night, there are photography exhibitions dedicated to the film and the village's heritage, as well as monument tours and moments celebrating Ciminna's historical memory.
The heart of the event is live entertainment: concerts, roaming bands, dixie, and tribute acts, alternating with cabaret performances by Sicilian comedians beloved by the public. The village streets also host street artists, jugglers, and fire-eaters, with a program designed for families and children alike.
Gastronomy is an integral part of the festival: along the route, you will find stands and tastings of typical Ciminna products, from ricotta to schiacciate, and from traditional sweets to local wine. The event traditionally closes at dawn with a tasting of warm croissants and pastries.
The White Night takes place in the height of summer, between late July and August, as part of the Estate Ciminnese (Ciminna Village Festival) program. Admission is free, and the event is promoted by the Municipality of Ciminna with the support of local associations. The dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been officially announced.
Ciminna can be reached by car from Palermo in about an hour, taking the SS121 and then the provincial roads towards the Madonie hinterland. The nearest train station is in Termini Imerese, from which you can continue by car or local connections.
Admission to the White Night is free. The events take place outdoors in the village's historic center.
We recommend wearing comfortable shoes to walk the cobblestone streets of the historic center and arriving early, as parking near the town is limited.
