About Ciclo-Carnevale

In Ventimiglia, there's a different kind of Carnival, where bicycles and nature take centre stage instead of parade floats. The Ciclo-Carnevale, organised by FIAB Riviera dei Fiori, combines sustainable mobility, sport, the environment, and fun for all ages. A day of celebration in the former Campasso area with music, juggling, nature workshops, free electric bike trials, and activities for children. An original and green way to experience Carnival in the border town of western Liguria.

A Carnival focused on sustainability

Ciclo-Carnevale is a young event but already well-established in Ventimiglia, in the province of Imperia, reaching its third edition in 2026. Organised by FIAB Riviera dei Fiori with the patronage of the Municipality and the collaboration of Natura Intemelia and Scuola di Pace, it offers a celebration dedicated to sustainable mobility, sport, nature, and fun for all ages.

What's on

The day takes place in the former Campasso area and is packed with activities: music, juggling, table tennis, and face painting for the little ones, nature and birdwatching activities, as well as free trials of electric bicycles and e-cargo bikes. There's also a symbolic gesture for the environment, with the planting of an olive tree by the Youth Municipal Council.

A festival that educates

Ciclo-Carnevale is designed as an awareness-raising event: bringing adults and children closer to cycling and nature through play and celebration. It's an initiative that showcases a Ventimiglia committed to sustainability and urban liveability, complementing the city's major traditions like the Flower Battle and the Medieval August.

Ventimiglia, a border city

The last Italian city before the French border, Ventimiglia is a gateway to the Riviera dei Fiori and the Cรดte d'Azur. Events like Ciclo-Carnevale enrich the city's winter calendar, offering families and enthusiasts a green alternative to traditional festivals.

Ciclo-Carnevale โ€” edition 2026

The third edition of Ciclo-Carnevale took place in Ventimiglia in February 2026 in the former Campasso area, featuring music, juggling, nature workshops, free electric bike and e-cargo bike trials, and the planting of an olive tree by the Youth Municipal Council.

The 2026 edition of Ciclo-Carnevale, the third, animated the former Campasso area of Ventimiglia with a day dedicated to sustainable mobility, sport, nature, and fun. Organised by FIAB Riviera dei Fiori with Natura Intemelia and Scuola di Pace, the event was well-attended, as confirmed by the local press.
