Widespread concerts in the historic center for the summer solstice
Every year, around the summer solstice, Chieri joins the Music Festival, the great event that on June 21st lights up thousands of Italian and European cities with free concerts held in public spaces. In the Municipality of Chieri, in the province of Turin, the initiative promoted by the City of Chieri fills the churches, squares, courtyards, and cultural spaces of the historic center with music, turning the entire town into an open-air stage.
The spirit of the event is that of the international motto "Faites de la musique": making music in any form of expression, style, genre, and tradition. In Chieri, this translates into a program that weaves together choirs, bands, music schools, classical ensembles, and contemporary groups, in a journey that invites citizens and visitors to move from one concert to another, rediscovering the most evocative corners of the historic Chieri village.
The 32nd national edition in 2026 is titled "The Voice of Places" and focuses on the bond between music, territory, and community, with particular attention to choral singing as an authentic expression of identity and social cohesion. In Chieri, the program unfolds over the weekend of June 20th and 21st with numerous events: choral concerts, classical and contemporary music, performances by music schools, and ensemble music moments. Proposals include the "Chieri Classica... In Coro!" concert, performances by the Officina Musicale and Infinite Art schools, and the voices of local choirs.
The Chieri Music Festival is much more than a series of concerts: it is an opportunity to experience the historic center in a new way, where music becomes a tool for social interaction and the enhancement of the city's heritage. A long-awaited appointment that confirms Chieri's cultural vocation and its role in the Piedmont event scene.
For the 2026 edition, the 32nd at the national level, the Music Festival adopts the theme "The Voice of Places", dedicated to the relationship between music, territory, and community, and to choral singing as an expression of shared identity. In Chieri, in the province of Turin, the program is spread over the weekend of June 20th and 21st.
The calendar includes choral concerts, classical and contemporary music, performances by local music schools such as Officina Musicale and Infinite Art, as well as the "Chieri Classica... In Coro!" concert. City choirs alternate in churches and historic spaces, in a day that culminates with the summer solstice on June 21st.
All events are free. The complete program with times and locations is published on the City of Chieri website.
