The floral and nursery market exhibition that turns the village into an open-air garden
Cetona in Fiore is the major floral and nursery market exhibition that, every year in late April, turns the historic center of Cetonaโa stunning village in the province of Siena bordering Umbriaโinto a true open-air garden. For three days, Piazza Garibaldi and the village streets are filled with flowers, plants, and scents, welcoming thousands of enthusiasts arriving from all over Tuscany and neighboring regions.
The heart of the event is the market exhibition set up in Piazza Garibaldi, where nurserymen offer spring blooms, ornamental plants, terrace and garden specimens, shrubs, trees, and floral arrangements of every kind. Alongside the plant exhibitors, there are also sections dedicated to home decor, crafts, and creativity, making these three days a perfect opportunity for open-air shopping in the heart of the village.
Cetona in Fiore is more than just a plant market: the event opens to the public some of the most evocative private gardens of the historic center and the surrounding Cetona countryside, which are normally closed to visitors. The program includes night walks to discover the most hidden corners of the village, guided tours, workshops dedicated to greenery and raised vegetable beds, as well as meetings and conferences on botanical and naturalistic themes, such as those linked to the nearby Belverde Archaeological-Naturalistic Park.
The festival is organized by the Pro Loco of Cetona in collaboration with the Natural Shopping Center and with the patronage of the Municipality. During the three days, local restaurants, wine bars, and pizzerias offer themed menus, while visitors can explore art galleries, local artists' studios, and the beauty of one of the most fascinating villages in southern Tuscany. The coincidence with April 25th also makes the event an occasion to celebrate Liberation Day with institutional and musical moments in the square.
The 29th edition of Cetona in Fiore brought the Sienese village to life from Friday, April 24 to Sunday, April 26, 2026, confirming its status as one of the most anticipated spring events in the Valdichiana. Three days of flowers, plants, and cultural initiatives in Piazza Garibaldi and the streets of the historic center, organized by the Pro Loco of Cetona with the Natural Shopping Center and the patronage of the Municipality.
Throughout the three days: raised vegetable bed workshop, garland-making workshop, conference "Plants and Man, Friends for Life", visits to art galleries and the studio of painter Balestrieri, ceramics exhibition, and a display of children's drawings. Local restaurants, wine bars, and pizzerias offered floral-themed menus.
Cetona can be reached by car from the Chiusi-Chianciano Terme exit of the A1 motorway, just a few kilometers from the toll booth. The nearest train station is Chiusi-Chianciano Terme, on the Rome-Florence line, from where you can continue by car or bus.
Admission to the market exhibition in Piazza Garibaldi is free. A shuttle service is provided for some visits to private gardens outside the center.
