A Pro Loco Carnival celebration for all ages in the heart of the Roero region
Every winter, when the Roero region dresses up in the colors of Carnival, the Pro Loco of Ceresole d'Alba organizes a festival designed for the entire community. It is a simple yet deeply felt event that reflects the association's commitment to promoting social connection and conviviality in this town in the Province of Cuneo, Piedmont. Rather than a large parade of floats, it is a family-friendly village celebration where the smiles of the little ones and the spirit of togetherness are what truly matter.
The heart of the event is the famous costume contest: an opportunity to show off the most imaginative and original outfits. Adults and children are invited to come in their most colorful disguises, creating an informal parade that rewards creativity. It is the most anticipated moment of the afternoon, transforming the school gym into a stage of fantasy, confetti, and laughter.
The celebration is never complete without a snack for everyone, shared in the joyful atmosphere typical of Carnival. Between traditional sweets and games, the day becomes a gathering point for families and the entire citizenry, in the spirit of a popular tradition that renews itself year after year.
Ceresole d'Alba, nestled among the hills of the Roero region just a few kilometers from Alba and Bra, proudly preserves its traditions. The Carnival is a key part of the calendar of initiatives that the Pro Loco dedicates to the area, enhancing local cultural roots and offering residents moments of authentic celebration. It is a perfect example of how, in the small towns of Piedmont, village festivals remain a precious glue for the community.
