The artisanal ceramics fair in the hills of the Asti Monferrato
In Castelnuovo Don Bosco, a small town in the Province of Asti nestled among the Monferrato hills, Ceramiche Itineranti returns every springโa fair that has made artistic ceramics its signature. The event takes place in Piazza Don Bosco, the town's main square, where for an entire weekend in May, exhibitor stalls are interspersed with demonstrations, workshops, and exhibitions.
Over the years, the event has established itself as a high-quality gathering that combines artistic craftsmanship, culture, and local promotion. The ceramics and flower fair is the heart of the event: potters and artisans display and sell their creations, ranging from everyday tableware to decorative works. Alongside the market, there are art exhibitions and themed displays, often focused on the relationship between creativity and the environment, such as the traveling exhibition dedicated to clay as an alternative to plastic.
One of the most beloved aspects of Ceramiche Itineranti is its focus on public engagement. During the two days, visitors can watch pottery wheel demonstrations and participate in numerous open workshops designed for both adults and children: from decorating mugs to making paper flowers and discovering ancient candle-making methods. It is a perfect opportunity to get your hands in the clay and take home a small object created by yourself.
The culinary side is managed by the Pro Loco of Castelnuovo Don Bosco: the food stand, set up in the square, opens at lunchtime offering a selection of traditional Piedmontese dishes. On Sunday, the event expands into the surrounding landscape with Camminacollina, a guided walk through the hills of Castelnuovo to discover wild herbs and the scenic views of the Monferrato, confirming the deep bond between the event and its territory. A perfect destination for a spring outing just a few kilometers from Turin and Asti.
