About Castello Blues

Castello Blues is the music festival in Castelfranco Piandiscò (Arezzo province) dedicated to the warm, soulful sounds of blues. Launched in 2025 under the artistic direction of Luca Romani—the driving force behind the renowned Torrita Blues—the event brings top-tier bands and vocalists to the Teatro Comunale Wanda Capodaglio, complemented by a food area managed by local Pro Loco associations. It is an event that blends live music, local flavors, and community spirit, with the ambition of evolving into a widespread festival across the Valdarno region.

Castello Blues: The new voice of blues in the Arezzo Valdarno

Castello Blues is a vibrant new music festival that has chosen the blues as its guiding thread to enliven Castelfranco Piandiscò, a municipality in the province of Arezzo overlooking the upper Valdarno in Tuscany. Established in 2025, the event has found its home in the intimate and evocative Teatro Comunale Wanda Capodaglio in the village of Castelfranco di Sopra. This 280-seat venue transforms for a night into an immersive space of emotion, featuring curated stage design and warm, enveloping sounds.

A project with a long-term vision

Behind Castello Blues is the vision of Luca Romani, artistic director of the prestigious Torrita Blues, a festival in Torrita di Siena that has achieved international acclaim. The goal is to test the Valdarno region's passion for great music and to grow, year after year, into a true widespread festival—an event capable of animating some of the area's most picturesque locations, including theaters, badlands, parks, and squares, while promoting culture, tourism, and local engagement. The event is organized by the Municipality of Castelfranco Piandiscò in collaboration with the Torrita Blues Cultural Association and the Fondazione Toscana Spettacolo.

Music and taste combined

Castello Blues is more than just a concert: the evening kicks off in the late afternoon with Cibo in Strada, a food and wine area set up by local Pro Loco associations along Via Fanfani, right in front of the ticket office. Blues-themed stands and moments of conviviality serve as a prelude to the live music, offering a complete experience that weaves together performance and local flavors.

A festival for all generations

From its very first edition, the stated goal has been to introduce a broad and diverse audience to blues and live music, with a special focus on younger generations. With affordable tickets and a format that mixes concerts with a village festival atmosphere, Castello Blues is positioning itself as a cultural highlight to watch in the Valdarno area this spring.

Castello Blues — edition 2026

The second edition of Castello Blues was held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the Teatro Comunale Wanda Capodaglio in Castelfranco Piandiscò. The stage featured the X-JAM Band, joined by international vocalists Deviana P. Morgan and Yelena Baker, for an evening that confirmed the growth of the Valdarno blues project, blending live music with the Cibo in Strada food area.
