In the midst of Carnival celebrations, while towns across the Monferrato region host parades with floats and costumes, Treville offers an alternative experience: the Carnival Trekking, a guided hike designed for those who love the outdoors and prefer to celebrate on the move. The event takes place in the Monferrato Casalese area, in the province of Alessandria, in the heart of Piedmont.

Treville, the balcony over the Alps

Treville is a small hilltop village just a few kilometers from Casale Monferrato, famously known as the "balcony over the Alps": from its elevated position, on clear days, the view sweeps across the entire Alpine range. The village is part of the UNESCO site of the Piedmont Vineyard Landscapes and preserves treasures such as the Church of Sant'Ambrogio with its scenic terrace, the Romanesque Church of San Quirico, the infernot (traditional underground cellars) carved into the Pietra da Cantoni, and panoramic spots like the Bric d'la Crus. It is the perfect setting for a hike that combines nature, landscape, and tradition.

A slow trek, with local storytelling

The Carnival Trekking is organized by Hiking Taste, a project led by environmental hiking guide and tour leader Silvia Broseghini, who specializes in "slow" and sustainable excursions. Her walks are more than just sport: along the way, she weaves a narrative of the territory, filled with curiosities, history, landscapes, and charming villages. It is an experience that turns a simple walk into a journey of discovery through the Monferrato.

• A scenic loop of approximately 12 km, with an elevation gain of about 250 meters;
