The cannolo and wine festival of Isola delle Femmine
The Carnival of Flavors – Cannolo and Wine Festival is a fresh food, wine, and cultural event taking place in Isola delle Femmine, a charming coastal town in the Metropolitan City of Palermo, Sicily. Born from an initiative by the Sikania Eventi E.T.S. association in collaboration with the Pro Loco of Isola delle Femmine and the local council, the festival aims to promote local traditions, artistic heritage, and the island's unique gastronomy.
The heart of the event is the tasting of Sicilian cannoli and wine, two pillars of the island's culinary identity, offered to the public to celebrate the region's most representative delicacies. The tastings animate Piazza Pittsburg and the picturesque small harbor, which overlooks the sea facing the Isola delle Femmine nature reserve, creating a convivial atmosphere that blends flavor with stunning scenery.
The Carnival of Flavors is about more than just food. The program weaves together cultural and artistic moments: literary meetings, poetry readings, and art exhibitions hosted at the Pino Fortini Municipal Library, alongside dance performances, live music, and a food and drink area. The event unites cultural associations, institutions, and residents, serving as a catalyst for local development.
Overlooking the Gulf of Palermo and famous for its nature reserve and the small island that gives it its name, Isola delle Femmine provides a breathtaking backdrop for the festival. This event is a new addition to the town's calendar, joining the rich tradition of cannolo festivals found throughout the Palermo area, from nearby Piana degli Albanesi to Casteldaccia.
For updated dates and programs, we recommend following the official channels of the Pro Loco of Isola delle Femmine and the organizers, as the event may be subject to changes or postponements due to weather conditions.
