The float parade in the historic center of Mosciano Sant'Angelo
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Carnival in the Village is the annual festival that fills the historic center of Mosciano Sant'Angelo with color and joy during the Carnival season. Located in the province of Teramo, overlooking the hills of the Val Vibrata in Abruzzo, the town hosts this event organized by the Associazione Il Borgo, a highly anticipated appointment for the local community and visitors from neighboring towns looking for a fun-filled family day out.
The heart of the festival is the parade of allegorical floats that winds through the town streets. These massive, colorful floats are true moving works of art: they tell stories, poke fun at current events, and celebrate traditions, all crafted with care and passion by local groups over the preceding months. They are accompanied by masquerade groups in a riot of costumes, music, and choreography that turn the village into a grand open-air stage.
The Carnival in the Village is part of the rich Carnival tradition of the Teramo area, consisting of parades, masks, and parties that enliven villages and squares in the Sundays leading up to Lent. In Mosciano Sant'Angelo, the event has become a key gathering point that attracts families, children, and curious visitors, highlighting the historic center of the Municipality and the hard work of local associations.
Thanks to the joyful atmosphere, the children's area, and free admission, the Carnival in the Village is designed for all ages. Those visiting Mosciano Sant'Angelo during the festival will find a town in celebration, filled with color, music, and genuine Abruzzese hospitality.
