The Carnival for Kids in the streets and the Fortress of the Bagnara village
Among the most characteristic villages in the province of Ravenna, Bagnara di Romagna celebrates Carnival with a formula entirely dedicated to children. Its Carnival for Kids, which in 2026 will reach its forty-first edition, is now a classic of the Bagnara winter: for an afternoon, the historic center streets transform into a large open-air play area, enlivened by masks, music, and activities designed for families.
The heart of the event is the historic center around the charming Sforza Fortress, one of the few perfectly preserved square-plan castles in Emilia-Romagna. It is in this setting that children and youngsters parade in costume, amidst inflatables, cotton candy distribution, and clouds of confetti. The atmosphere is typical of Romagna village festivals: simple, welcoming, and child-friendly.
Bagnara's event is part of the broader program of the Carnival in Bassa Romagna, which annually involves the municipalities of the Union with parades, masked parties, and initiatives for families. Bagnara represents the most intimate and cozy stop on the circuit, perfect for those seeking a quiet Carnival suitable for the little ones, away from the crowds of large masked parades.
The Carnival of Bagnara di Romagna is the ideal opportunity to discover this little gem of the Ravenna Romagna, experiencing it at its most festive and colorful moment.
The forty-first edition of the Carnival for Kids colored the center of Bagnara di Romagna on Sunday, February 8, 2026.
