About Carnevale al Palasport

Carnevale al Palasport is the grand celebration held every Shrove Tuesday at the Sports Hall in Minervino Murge, in the province of Barletta-Andria-Trani. Organized by the Pro Loco in collaboration with local parishes and associations, the event transforms the arena into a colorful fun village featuring over ten themed attractions, games, bouncy castles, piñatas, performances, singing, and dancing. A day designed especially for children in costume and their families, with completely free admission.

The Carnevale al Palasport in Minervino Murge

Carnevale al Palasport has become one of the most anticipated winter events in Minervino Murge, a town in the Murgia hinterland in the province of Barletta-Andria-Trani, in the heart of Puglia. Every year, on Shrove Tuesday, the Sports Hall is transformed into a massive fun village dedicated to children and families, featuring vibrant decorations and a packed program of activities.

A village with ten themed attractions

The heart of the festival is a large area equipped with over ten themed attractions: skill challenges, games, bouncy castles, piñatas, photo booths, and refreshment areas. Children are divided into groups and, accompanied by entertainers, rotate through the various stations so that everyone can enjoy each attraction without excessive waiting. Participation is primarily aimed at children aged 3 to 13, though younger ones are welcome if accompanied by their parents.

Entertainment, music, and masks

The day concludes with an artistic performance accompanied by singing and dancing, involving both young and old in a collective finale. To get into the Carnival spirit, all children are required to wear a mask, an essential element of this popular tradition. The atmosphere is that of a simple, genuine village festival, where the fun comes from participation and sharing.

A community event

The event is promoted by the Pro Loco of Minervino Murge together with local parishes and various associations, including Mama, I 4 parassiti, Studio&Dance Damiano, and MinervinoLive, with the patronage of the Municipality of Minervino Murge. Safety and medical assistance are provided by local volunteer groups. As the organizers emphasize, Carnevale al Palasport was born as an opportunity for social interaction and shared joy—a moment for the community to come together around its children.

A growing festival

Starting as a more intimate celebration, the event has grown over the years to occupy the entire Sports Hall. The Pro Loco aims to further expand the festival by reviving the tradition of masked groups and allegorical floats through the streets and squares of the town, bringing the Minervino Carnival back to the parades of its historic editions.
