The Andalo Carnival featuring masks, floats, and fun on the Paganella Plateau
Carnevalandalo is the signature Carnival festival of Andalo, the tourist hub of the Paganella Plateau in Trentino-Alto Adige. Every winter, during the Carnival season, the town dresses up to welcome residents and holidaymakers with two main highlights: Fat Thursday and Shrove Tuesday. It is an event specifically designed for families, blending alpine Carnival traditions with the lively atmosphere of one of the most beloved ski resorts in the Brenta Dolomites.
The heart of the event beats in Piazza Dolomiti and at the Andalo Palacongressi. On Fat Thursday, "Carnevalando" takes the stage with music, dancing, live performances by masked groups, face painting, entertainment for all ages, and the distribution of traditional Carnival delicacies. Shrove Tuesday is the main event, featuring a masked parade through the town streets and a grand finale party that brings joy inside and around the Palacongressi.
Carnevalandalo is part of the broader Carnival celebrations on the Paganella Plateau and the Piana Rotaliana, where various villages organize parties, parades, and entertainment. In Andalo, the event is organized by Andalo Vacanze in collaboration with the APT Dolomiti Paganella, with the aim of offering families and guests a free, colorful, and engaging afternoon, perfect to combine with a day on the snow or a stroll through the town.
Between the masks, floats, music, and the scent of fried pastries, Carnevalandalo is the ideal opportunity to experience the festive atmosphere of Carnival in the mountains. A simple yet heartfelt event that unites the Andalo community and the many tourists visiting during the winter high season, all set against the unique backdrop of the Paganella and the UNESCO-listed Brenta Dolomites.
Carnevalandalo 2026 brought Andalo to life with two main events. On Thursday, February 12 (Fat Thursday), "Carnevalando" brought music, dancing, face painting, entertainment, grostoli, krapfen, and cotton candy to Piazza Dolomiti and the Palacongressi, along with stage performances by masked groups. Tuesday, February 17 (Shrove Tuesday) featured the masked parade through the town center, followed by the grand finale party at the Palacongressi with music, giant inflatables, face painting, balloons, and choreography by the masked groups. Both days were free to attend and organized by Andalo Vacanze.
