The Caramanico Terme Carnival

The Carnival Festival is one of the most cherished winter traditions in Caramanico Terme, located in the province of Pescara in the heart of Abruzzo. During the Carnival season, the village—famous for its thermal baths and its location inside the Majella National Park—transforms into a cheerful open-air stage where masks, costumes, and confetti fill the streets of the historic center.

The Masked Parade

The highlight of the event is the masked parade, which takes place in the early afternoon, traveling through the town's main thoroughfares: Viale Fontegrande, Corso Gaetano Bernardi, and Piazza Marconi. Children, teenagers, and adults parade in colorful costumes, accompanied by music and entertainment, creating a festive atmosphere that engages the entire local community and the many visitors drawn by the village's charm.

The Children's Party

After the parade, the festivities move indoors to the Palasantaelena Center on Via Martiri Caramanichesi for the Children's Party: a dedicated space featuring games, music, and entertainment for the little ones. It is the most anticipated moment for families, who can continue to enjoy the fun regardless of the winter mountain weather.

A village between spas and nature

The Carnival is organized by the Municipality of Caramanico Terme in collaboration with local associations. Experiencing the festival is also an opportunity to discover one of the most evocative villages in the Abruzzo Region: thermal springs, medieval alleys, the Abbey of San Tommaso Becket, and the trails of the Majella make Caramanico an ideal destination in every season.
