The under-35 classical music festival at the Teatro allo Scalo
Capo d'Orlando Classica is the music festival that enlivens the Centro Culturale Teatro allo Scalo in Capo d'Orlando every winter, nestled in the heart of the Nebrodi mountains in the province of Messina, Sicily. The event is entirely dedicated to young musicians under 35 and was born with the goal of celebrating the art and talent of new generations, establishing the town of Capo d'Orlando as a meeting point for the best performers on the regional and national stage.
The festival is curated by artistic director Adelaide Librizzi, a talented young pianist from the area, who personally selects the performers, guiding the audience through a journey of famous pieces and tributes to the great composers of the classical tradition. Each concert thus becomes an opportunity to discover new voices in the music scene, in a continuous dialogue between established repertoire and fresh interpretation.
The concerts are held at the Centro Culturale Teatro allo Scalo, an evocative space carved out of the old railway freight yard of Capo d'Orlando, now restored and transformed into a cultural hub. The intimate atmosphere of the hall creates a direct and personal connection between the artists and the audience, making it ideal for chamber music and piano recitals.
The festival is organized in collaboration between the Municipality of Capo d'Orlando and the Associazione CrossRoad Club APS, an organization with over thirty years of experience in managing musical events in the Nebrodi area. The calendar typically runs from December to April, accompanying the public throughout the cold season with a series of events spread across the winter and spring months. For those visiting the Tyrrhenian coast of Sicily, Capo d'Orlando Classica represents a precious opportunity to combine the discovery of the Nebrodi territory with a high-quality cultural experience.
The third edition of Capo d'Orlando Classica continued in 2026 the path started in previous seasons, with the new year's events scheduled for January 4, February 15, March 15, and April 12, 2026 at the Centro Culturale Teatro allo Scalo in Capo d'Orlando.
The edition confirmed the festival's commitment to young talents under 35, with performers selected by artistic director Adelaide Librizzi. Among the protagonists of the final event on April 12 was the young pianist Maurilia Coppolina, born in Patti in 2006 and a composition student at the prestigious Imola Academy.
