The Cantone Porchetta Festival in Introdacqua

In the heart of the Peligna Valley, the small village of Cantone, in the municipality of Introdacqua (in the province of L'Aquila, Abruzzo), hosts one of the most beloved local festivals every summer: the Porchetta Festival. Two festive evenings that bring Piazza Chiesa Beata Vergine del Rosario to life, where the scent of the grill, good food, and live music attract visitors from across the valley.

The star of the table: porchetta

The absolute protagonist is the artisanal porchetta, served hot and fragrant directly from the food stalls that open starting at 8:00 PM. Alongside this signature dish, the stalls offer numerous other traditional Abruzzese specialties for a genuine and convivial culinary journey. Admission is free, and free parking is available in the area, with POS payments accepted at the stalls.

Music and atmosphere

Both evenings are enlivened by live music: cover bands, tributes to the greats of Italian and international music, revival groups, and DJ sets transform the square into a village party until late at night. The atmosphere is the welcoming and familiar one typical of Abruzzese festivals, where tradition, joy, and a sense of community intertwine.

A local event

The event is organized by the Associazione Nuova Cantone together with the Comitato Feste Cantone, with the patronage of the Municipality of Introdacqua and the collaboration of local entities. The festival represents an important moment for the life of the small community of Cantone, capable of kicking off the summer in the Peligna Valley and highlighting the flavors and traditions of the L'Aquila hinterland.
