The great community banquet in the heart of Campi Bisenzio
Some festivals don't need a stage to come alive: in Campi Bisenzio, near Florence, the festival is the table itself. Campi a Tavola - The Joy of Being There turns Via Santo Stefano, in the heart of the historic center, into one long, continuous banquet that welcomes hundreds of people. It is a community dinner in the truest sense of the word: you sit elbow-to-elbow with neighbors, friends, and strangers, sharing a meal and rediscovering the pleasure of being together.
The event is deeply rooted in local Campi tradition and returned to fill the streets after a long hiatus, with a success that surprised even the organizers. The 2026 edition is titled "The Joy of Being There", chosen to capture the wonderful atmosphere of the previous year, when the event was relaunched after a long break. It is promoted with the patronage and support of the Municipality of Campi Bisenzio, in collaboration with the vibrant local association network.
The heart of the evening is the dinner, designed to showcase local culinary heritage. Participants can choose from four traditional menus, each named after a place or family linked to the history of Campi:
Campi a Tavola is more than just gastronomy; it is a concrete gesture of community spirit. All proceeds from the evening are donated to local associations, strengthening the ties between citizens and community groups. Over the years, the initiative has benefited from the support of local partners like Unicoop Firenze and ChiantiBanca, alongside the numerous associations that bring Campi Bisenzio to life. The ambitious goal for the 2026 edition is to reach 1,500 guests, building on the 1,200 who attended the previous year.
More than just a food festival, Campi a Tavola is a portrait of a community telling its own story at the dinner table. On an early summer evening, the historic center of this town in the Florentine plains of Tuscany becomes a meeting place where culinary tradition, conviviality, and solidarity blend into one single, incredibly long dinner.
