A festival for the motorhome community

The Camper Festival is one of the most cherished events of the summer in Carcoforo, a small municipality in the Province of Vercelli, Piedmont, set at an altitude of 1,304 meters at the foot of Val d'Egua, an offshoot of Val Sermenza in upper Valsesia. The event celebrates the decades-long bond between the village and the motorhome world: the municipal administration was, in fact, one of the first in Italy in the early nineties to build a fully equipped motorhome parking area, and these travelers have since become a familiar presence during the summer months.

Visiting Carcoforo during the Camper Festival means discovering one of the smallest municipalities in Piedmont: a few dozen inhabitants, stone and wood houses—some dating back to the late Middle Ages—adorned with sundials and frescoes. The village's very name reveals the Germanic origin of the ancient Walser settlements, an Alemannic-speaking population that colonized these alpine valleys. The fresh air, meadows, and forests surrounding the village make the day an ideal experience for those seeking pristine nature and tranquility.
