The craft gin festival at the Eremo dello Spirito Santo in Pellezzano
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Campania Gin Fest is the event that introduced the culture of craft gin to Pellezzano, a town in the province of Salerno, Campania. It is held at the Eremo dello Spirito Santo, a monumental complex in the village of Capriglia overlooking the Irno Valley: an unconventional setting for a food and wine fair, blending the charm of a historic site of silence with the convivial atmosphere of a major tasting event.
The concept was created by Alessandro Garofalo and Marco Rago, supported by the cultural association I Ragazzi di Capriglia and endorsed by the Municipality of Pellezzano and the Province of Salerno. The first edition took place on September 19th and 20th, 2025, as part of the Settembre all'Eremo program, the municipal festival that celebrates the end of summer by inviting the public to enjoy the monumental complex through yoga, dance, cinema, and food and wine events.
In recent years, craft gin has become one of the most dynamic areas of experimentation in the Italian spirits scene, and the South is no exception: micro-distilleries and small brands are working with local botanicals to create a distinct aromatic profile. Campania Gin Fest was born to provide this movement with a regional showcase, connecting the public directly with producers in a format that prioritizes storytelling and guided tasting over simple consumption.
The Eremo dello Spirito Santo is one of the iconic landmarks of Pellezzano: a monumental complex nestled in the greenery of the Capriglia hills, which has been restored over the years and returned to the community as a cultural space. Hosting a food and wine event here allows visitors to discover this heritage site while enjoying a unique tasting experience in its open-air spaces.
The event is held in September, during the weekend when the Eremo's autumn program is in full swing. At the moment, no official announcements have been made regarding the dates for the next edition: it is recommended to follow the channels of the Municipality of Pellezzano and the organizers for program updates.
The 2026 edition of the Campania Gin Fest has not yet been officially announced. The event, which debuted in 2025 at the Eremo dello Spirito Santo in Capriglia, Pellezzano (province of Salerno), is typically held in September, as part of the municipal festival that marks the end of summer.
As there are no confirmed dates, exhibitor lists, or musical programs available, this page does not currently provide information on the upcoming edition: any details regarding times, participating producers, and tickets will be published only after the announcement by the organizers and the Municipality of Pellezzano. Those wishing to attend can in the meantime consult the report on the 2025 edition, which gives a precise idea of the format: tasting stands of Campanian distilleries, local cuisine with show cooking, educational meetings, and evenings with live music and DJ sets.
Eremo dello Spirito Santo, Capriglia district, Pellezzano (SA), Postal Code 84080, province of Salerno, Campania.
By car, Pellezzano can be reached from the Salerno-Avellino motorway junction, then following signs for the Capriglia district; the hill road is narrow in the final stretches, so arriving early for parking is advised. The reference railway station is Salerno, connected to high-speed and regional lines, from which you can continue by car or local connections. The nearest airport is Salerno-Costa d'Amalfi.
In the 2025 edition, entry to the monumental complex was free, while a 25-euro ticket was required for the tasting, which included two gin tonics, two shots of pure gin, and a selection of dishes prepared for the occasion. Conditions for the next edition have not yet been announced.
This is an outdoor evening event in the hills: a light jacket is useful even in September. As this is a spirits-focused event, it is advisable to plan your return responsibly and take turns driving.
