The food and wine walking tour through the hills of the Valdichiana
Camminmangiando is the most anticipated food and wine walking event of the summer in Lucignano, in the province of Arezzo, nestled in the heart of the Tuscan Valdichiana. Every year in mid-June, the event organized by the Pro Loco of Lucignano invites residents and visitors to explore the countryside surrounding the village on foot, alternating the pleasure of walking with four tasting stops dedicated to local flavors.
The route, immersed in vineyards, olive groves, and panoramic views, is divided into four stages: at the end of each, walkers stop to savor a course of traditional cuisine, accompanied by wines from the wineries belonging to the Strada del Vino Terre di Arezzo. From appetizers with Tuscan cold cuts and crostini to the first course with "grandma's" ragรน, from grilled Chianina beef to cantucci with vinsanto: every stop is a journey through the typical products of the Valdichiana.
Departures take place in waves from the Public Gardens, with a passage through the charming medieval historic center of Lucignano, one of the most characteristic villages in Tuscany with its famous elliptical layout of concentric rings. The route, which varies from year to year, winds for several kilometers through hills and countryside, without rigid schedules or forced paces: the invitation is to enjoy the day in complete freedom, surrounded by nature, gastronomy, and conviviality.
Now in its many editions, Camminmangiando has become one of the symbolic events of the Lucignano summer and an opportunity to showcase the landscape and food and wine heritage of this corner of the Province of Arezzo. Over the years, the event has been enriched with side initiatives such as photography contests dedicated to the best shots taken along the route, testifying to the deep bond between the walk, the landscape, and the community.
The 2026 edition of Camminmangiando returns to Lucignano on Sunday, June 21, 2026, organized by the Pro Loco with the patronage of the Municipality and the collaboration of the Strada del Vino Terre di Arezzo. Participants, departing in waves from the Public Gardens, cross the historic center and walk through vineyards and countryside, with four tasting stops along the way. Booking is mandatory by June 19.
