The summer square festival in Camagna Monferrato, from bal folk to the patronal feast
Camagna in Festa was established in 2026 as a new festival created by the Pro Loco of Camagna Monferrato to unite all the square events that bring the village to life throughout the summer under a single name. It is a widespread program that kicks off in mid-May and culminates in early August, spanning the warmest months with concerts, dance evenings, food and wine gatherings, and popular traditions. The event is managed by the Pro Loco, a historic local organization that is celebrating its fiftieth anniversary during these years and remains one of the most active associations in the entire Monferrato area.
The heart of the festival is Piazza Lenti, in the center of Camagna Monferrato, a small municipality in the Province of Alessandria, in Piedmont. Nestled on the hills of the Casale Monferrato area and dominated by the dome of the parish church of Sant'Eusebio, the village offers the ideal setting for a village festival featuring long tables, live music, and open-air gatherings. In case of inclement weather, events are moved indoors to the Pro Loco hall.
The festival is divided into several events spread between late spring and summer. Among the highlights already announced:
The common thread of Camagna in Festa is folk music: from the traditional Piedmontese and French repertoire to the international sounds of bal folk, and dance concerts that bring traditional melodies and steps back to the square. Alongside the music, the festival focuses on the table and typical products of Monferrato, with dinners and tastings that accompany every evening, involving local businesses and community organizations.
More than just a single event, Camagna in Festa is the story of an entire summer of community: a widespread celebration that weaves together culture, gastronomy, and social life, designed to involve both residents and visitors and to showcase one of the most authentic corners of the Monferrato hills, now recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage viticultural landscape.
2026 marks the first edition of Camagna in Festa, a new festival with which the Pro Loco of Camagna Monferrato brings together the village's summer events in a single calendar.
Among the announced events, Saturday, June 6 in Piazza Lenti will feature a day of traditional Piedmontese, French, and international music: from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, a bal folk workshop; at 7:30 PM, dinner in the square; at 9:00 PM, a dance concert with Trio Brio, in collaboration with the Accademia Monferrato. This is followed by Circovino Monferrato on July 18 and, on August 1-2, the Feast of the Patron Saint Sant'Eusebio.
All events are free to attend; for dinners, reservations with the Pro Loco are recommended.
Camagna Monferrato is located in the province of Alessandria, in the Casale Monferrato area. By car, it can be reached from the A26 motorway (Casale Monferrato Sud exit) by continuing along the hillside roads; the nearest train station is in Casale Monferrato, about 15 km away. Reference airports: Turin Caselle and Milan Malpensa.
All festival events are free to attend. For dinners in the square, reservations are recommended by contacting the Pro Loco (including via WhatsApp), providing your name and the number of people in your party.
In case of bad weather, events will be held indoors at the Pro Loco hall. Comfortable clothing is recommended for the bal folk evenings.
