A festival for emerging singer-songwriters

The Calvizzano Festival d'Autore was founded in 2022 as a showcase for young Italian singer-songwriters under 35 and has quickly established itself as one of the most anticipated musical events in the area north of Naples. The festival takes place in the picturesque Villa Comunale Calvisia, in the center of Calvizzano, a town in the metropolitan city of Naples, Campania. The event is promoted by the Municipality of Calvizzano with the support of the Campania Region and Scabec, the regional agency for cultural heritage.

A competition for young talent

At the heart of the event is the competition reserved for singer-songwriters under 35 from all over Italy. Participants present an original song, performed with voice and an instrument, and are selected by a jury of music industry experts. Previous editions have featured young artists from Piedmont, Liguria, Basilicata, Campania, and even Malta, reflecting the national and international scope of the project.

Special guests and the Critics' Award

Each edition concludes with a performance by a special guest from the Italian music scene: in 2024, it was Morgan, with an intense piano and vocal concert, while in 2025 the stage welcomed Dolcenera and her band. During the final evening, the "Sara Ricciardiello" Critics' Award is also presented, dedicated to the memory of a young local citizen who passed away prematurely.

With the slogan "Music at the heart of the city," the Calvizzano Festival d'Autore offers free admission evenings that transform Villa Comunale Calvisia into an open-air stage for quality music. The initiative is not just a competition, but an opportunity for meeting and growth for the new generation of authors, in a context that blends Neapolitan musical tradition with the search for new languages.
