CaltaPride, the rainbow pride of Caltagirone
CaltaPride is the LGBTQIA+ pride event held in Caltagirone, the city of ceramics in the heart of the Calatino area, in the province of Catania. Since its inception in 2024, it has rapidly become a beacon for the queer community in Eastern Sicily and for all those who believe in a more inclusive, visible, and free Sicily.
A celebration that is also a political statement
CaltaPride combines the festive spirit of Pride with its political and social dimension. The rainbow parade marches through the city's historic center, starting from Piazza Risorgimento and winding through the streets and squares to Piazza Umberto, where the main stage hosts speeches, performances, and music. Along the route, participants enjoy entertainment, readings of the political manifesto, artistic performances, and discussions on human rights.

Getting there
Caltagirone is located in the hinterland of the province of Catania. By car, it can be reached via the SS417 Catania-Gela; by train, the Caltagirone station is connected to the Sicilian regional network. From the Catania-Fontanarossa and Comiso airports, you can continue by car or public bus.
Where and when
The parade starts in the late afternoon from Piazza Risorgimento and travels through the historic center to Piazza Umberto. The event is free and open to everyone.
