The rock, punk, metal, and ska festival at Prenninger Park in Welsberg
The Burning Park Festival is one of the most original alternative music events in South Tyrol. It takes place in the Prenninger Park of Welsberg-Taisten, a charming village in the Puster Valley, South Tyrol. The festival offers two days dedicated to rock, punk, metal, and ska, featuring bands from Italy and across Europe. Born in 2013 thanks to the dedication of a group of local enthusiasts, the festival has grown year after year to become a landmark for the alternative scene in the entire region.
The program alternates between established acts and emerging bands on a stage nestled in the park's greenery. Beyond the music, Burning Park features fire shows, art installations, and exhibitions that create a unique and engaging atmosphere. Attendees can also enjoy food and beer stands, fostering the informal and convivial spirit that is an integral part of the festival.
The symbol of Burning Park is the famous burning of a giant wooden guitar: at the climax of the event, the instrument is set ablaze amidst special effects and pyrotechnics, giving meaning to the festival's very name. It is the most anticipated and photographed moment, uniting all participants in a collective ritual of musical passion and energy.
The setting is the Puster Valley, at the foot of Plan de Corones and the South Tyrolean Dolomites, in a bilingual territory where Tyrolean tradition meets youth culture. The festival is held outdoors with free admission and is designed for those who love live music and a sense of community. Welsberg-Taisten is easily accessible by train along the Puster Valley line, making Burning Park a convenient destination for visitors from outside the region.
