Bruschetta takes center stage in the historic heart of Cerveteri
The Bruschetta Festival is a vibrant new gastronomic event organized by the Casaccia Vignola District in Piazza Risorgimento, located in the historic center of Cerveteri, in the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital, Lazio. Launched in 2025 and met with great enthusiasm, the festival celebrates one of the most authentic symbols of popular Lazio cuisine: the bruschetta, which is toasted bread rubbed with garlic and seasoned with extra virgin olive oil, tomatoes, and a variety of traditional toppings.
The heart of the event is all-you-can-eat bruschetta, offered in numerous variations: from the most classic versions with tomato and basil to indulgent, creative, and gourmet options. It is a simple, convivial dish that tells the story of the rural culture of the Cerveteri area, bringing together families, friends, and visitors around the aroma of toasted bread in an atmosphere of genuine joy.
Beyond the food, the festival offers plenty of live entertainment: music, karaoke, and group dancing liven up the square throughout the event, while local craft stalls enrich the stroll through the village alleys. The format is designed to engage all ages, in the true spirit of a neighborhood celebration.
The Bruschetta Festival is part of the summer calendar promoted by the Municipality of Cerveteri together with the city's districts, which fill the historic center with popular initiatives every summer. Concurrently, at Parco della Legnara, traditional dance recitals by local sports students take place, demonstrating how the festival is part of a dense network of events involving the entire community.
Visiting Cerveteri during the festival is also an opportunity to discover one of the most fascinating cities in Lazio: the ancient Etruscan Caere houses the famous Banditaccia Necropolis, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and a charming, compact medieval historic center. Sitting in Piazza Risorgimento with a steaming bruschetta, amidst music and conversation, means experiencing the most genuine and hospitable side of this corner of the Roman province.
Following its successful debut in 2025, the Bruschetta Festival returned to the historic center of Cerveteri for its second edition, organized by the Casaccia Vignola District with the patronage of the Municipality. In Piazza Risorgimento, the star was once again the all-you-can-eat bruschetta, served in numerous variations amidst the aroma of toasted bread and the festive atmosphere of the square.
The festival combined gastronomy and entertainment: bruschettas of all kinds at the stalls, karaoke, group dancing, and local crafts in the alleys. Live music was provided by the show "'Na cantina pè cantà " with Roberto, Valentina, and Moreno, featuring songs, rhythm, and a popular atmosphere. Simultaneously, at Parco della Legnara, the usual dance recitals by students of Rim Sport Cerveteri took place.
By car: Cerveteri can be reached via the A12 Rome-Civitavecchia motorway (Cerveteri-Ladispoli exit), about 40 km from Rome. By train: Marina di Cerveteri-Ladispoli station on the Rome-Pisa line, then take a bus or taxi to the historic center. By plane: Rome-Fiumicino Airport is approximately 30 km away.
Admission to the festival is free; food and drinks can be purchased at the stalls. For information, you can contact the Casaccia Vignola District organizers (Serena +39 347 587 9620, Fausto +39 340 309 9638) or the Municipality of Cerveteri.
The festival takes place in the historic center: it is recommended to park in the outer areas and reach Piazza Risorgimento on foot. The Roman summer is hot: wear light, comfortable clothing to enjoy the evening outdoors.
