The September Festival of the Madonna delle Grazie is one of the signature events of Anguillara Sabazia, located in the heart of the Lazio region in the province of Rome. Dedicated to the Madonna delle Grazie and the patron saint San Biagio, it is traditionally held around September 8th—the feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary—and continues through the following weekend to encourage broad participation from both the community and visitors.

The procession and the meeting of the statues

The most moving moment is the procession through the village streets: the statue of the Madonna delle Grazie is carried on the shoulders of the faithful, and along the route, it meets the statue of San Biagio, which bows in homage. This is an ancient and deeply symbolic rite that has marked the religious life of this town overlooking Lake Bracciano for generations.

Music, flavors, and crafts in the historic center

Beyond its devotional aspect, the festival brings the entire historic center and the lakeside to life with a rich secular program. Throughout the town's squares and streets, you will find:

Organized by the Pro Loco of Anguillara Sabazia in collaboration with the Municipality and local associations, including the Historic Districts and local organizations, the September Festival is much more than a religious anniversary: it is a village celebration that unites the entire community, showcases one of the most beautiful villages on Lake Bracciano, and welcomes visitors from Rome and across the Lazio region every year.
