Celebrating the icons of the Mediterranean diet at the port of Isola delle Femmine
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Bread, Oil and Fish Festival is a food and wine event held in Isola delle Femmine, a coastal town in the Metropolitan City of Palermo, Sicily. Overlooking the Gulf of Palermo and dominated by the small islet that gives the town its name, this maritime village has built its identity on its relationship with the sea and its agricultural heritage. The festival was established to highlight and celebrate the three iconic foods of the Mediterranean diet, which is recognized as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
Bread, extra virgin olive oil, and blue fish are the absolute stars of this festive day, held at the Piano Stenditoio del Porto—one of the most picturesque spots in the village, once used for drying fishermen's nets. Here, visitors can enjoy tastings of local specialties, discover the region's raw ingredients, and immerse themselves in the authentic scents and flavors of island cuisine.
The port setting makes the event particularly charming: the backdrop of fishing boats, the salty air, and the view of the open sea guide participants through a culinary journey designed for the whole family. The festival is an opportunity to rediscover the deep bond between Isola delle Femmine, its fishing community, and the Sicilian agri-food tradition.
The event is conceived and organized by the Pro Loco of Isola delle Femmine, with the patronage of the Municipal Administration and the support of the Regional Department of Agriculture. It is a project aimed at promoting the Palermo province, its food and wine excellence, and the hospitality of a village that, despite being just a few kilometers from the Sicilian capital, keeps its maritime soul intact.
The 2026 edition of the Bread, Oil and Fish Festival has not yet been officially confirmed by the Pro Loco of Isola delle Femmine. Based on previous editions, the event is usually held in September at the Piano Stenditoio del Porto, featuring free tastings dedicated to the iconic products of the Mediterranean diet.
Dates and the detailed program will be announced by the organizers in the weeks leading up to the event. We recommend following the official channels of the Pro Loco of Isola delle Femmine for updates.
The festival takes place at the Piano Stenditoio del Porto in Isola delle Femmine (PA), Sicily, on the Gulf of Palermo.
