When spring arrives, the small town of Bosco Marengo, located in the Alessandria plains of the Alto Monferrato, dresses in color for Bosco Fiorito, the flower and plant market fair organized by the Amici di Santa Croce Association with the support of the Municipality. Established in 2009 and typically held on the second Sunday of April, the event has become a staple for gardening enthusiasts and families from across the province of Alessandria.
Nursery stalls and local products
The heart of the event is the market fair that fills Piazza Mercato and the surrounding streets: dozens of stalls offer spring flowers and plants, gardening supplies, organic and local specialties, as well as handmade crafts. Alongside professional nurseries, hobbyists and local producers showcase their goods in a route designed for those looking to refresh their gardens or simply enjoy a stroll among the stalls.
Bonsai, photography, and activities for children
The day is enriched by numerous side events. The Bonsai Club Alessandria hosts a refined bonsai exhibition, while children can enjoy games and the "Battesimo della Sella" (Saddle Baptism), an introduction to horse riding offered by the "I Tre Ponti" stables. Art also takes center stage with a photography exhibition set up in the municipal halls.
Discovering the heritage of Bosco Marengo
Bosco Fiorito is also the perfect opportunity to discover the treasures of Pope Pius V's birthplace. Throughout the day, the churches, the Birthplace of Saint Pius V, the ancient walls, and above all the Santa Croce Monumental Complex remain open to visitors. The Municipal Mill, home to the visitor center of the Torrente Orba Nature Reserve, hosts the naturalistic collection of the Garzaia and exhibitions dedicated to nature and parks.
Good food and hospitality
Completing the experience are the local Pro Loco associations and the Rione Sant'Antonio Association, which offer traditional local dishes at refreshment points set up for the occasion. A full day, with free admission, to experience spring in the greenery of Bosco Marengo.

Piazza Mercato and the town center were filled with stalls offering flowers, spring plants, organic products, and local specialties. Highlights included the bonsai exhibition by the Bonsai Club Alessandria, the "Battesimo della Sella" for children with the "I Tre Ponti" stables, and a photography exhibition.
