An evening food and wine tour in the historic center of Celenza sul Trigno
Borgo e Gusto is the food and wine event that brings the historic center of Celenza sul Trigno to life at the beginning of summer. This medieval village is perched among the hills of the Chieti province in Abruzzo. For one evening, the alleys, stone arches, and small squares of the village turn into a long tasting trail, where visitors stroll from one station to the next, savoring the area's typical products.
The format is that of an itinerant food and wine tour: starting from the main square, you climb up through the village streets, past stone houses and picturesque views. The stops feature the best of Abruzzo's rustic cuisine, including:
The tour is more than just a tasting; it is a way to rediscover the village, its hidden corners, and the food culture that binds the community to its land.
Alongside the tastings, Borgo e Gusto offers live music, performances, and entertainment that keep the evening going until late at night. There is no shortage of fire shows and activities designed for both adults and children, making the event a community celebration that engages all ages. The intimate atmosphere of the small historic center, illuminated for the occasion, creates a charming setting that blends flavors, social life, and tradition.
The event is organized by the Pro Loco Coelentia with the patronage of the Abruzzo Region and the Municipality of Celenza sul Trigno. Over the years, Borgo e Gusto has grown with every edition, involving more volunteers, producers, and residents, and establishing itself as one of the most anticipated summer events in the province of Chieti. Admission is free, reflecting the popular and convivial spirit of the event.
Located in the inland area of the Alto Vastese, on the border between Abruzzo and Molise, Celenza sul Trigno preserves a medieval historic center with alleys, stone portals, and panoramic views over the Trigno valley. Borgo e Gusto is the perfect opportunity to discover this authentic corner of Abruzzo, far from the main tourist circuits, and to experience the genuine hospitality of a small town that tells its story through its flavors.
The 2026 edition of Borgo e Gusto was held on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, coinciding with the Republic Day holiday, in the historic center of Celenza sul Trigno. The village came alive with the customary evening food and wine tour, featuring tastings of local products, music, and fun for the whole family.
The event, organized by the Pro Loco Coelentia with the patronage of the Abruzzo Region and the local municipality, confirmed the formula that has successfully showcased the village through local flavors and community involvement over the years. Free admission.

By car, it can be reached from the Vasto Sud motorway exit (A14) by traveling up the Trigno valley along the SS650 Trignina, then following the provincial roads towards the village. The nearest train station is Vasto-San Salvo, on the Adriatic line.
