About Borgo DiVino Matino

Every summer, the historic center of Matino, in the heart of Salento, transforms into a large open-air food and wine trail. Borgo DiVino – Matino Wine Fest brings dozens of Apulian wineries, thousands of glasses of Primitivo and Negroamaro, local products, and live music to the stone alleys of this town in the province of Lecce. Organized by the Pro Loco Sant'Ermete APS together with the Municipality of Matino, the event combines tastings, tradition, and conviviality under the evening lights.

Borgo DiVino – Matino Wine Fest

In the heart of Salento, the historic center of Matino, in the province of Lecce, hosts Borgo DiVino – Matino Wine Fest every summer, one of the most anticipated food and wine events on the Apulian calendar. For two evenings, the stone alleys, courtyards, and small squares of the old town turn into a grand gourmet itinerary, where local wine meets traditional products, handicrafts, and live music.

One Village. A Thousand Glasses.

The event's format is captured in the motto "One Village. A Thousand Glasses.": dozens of Apulian wineries set up tasting booths along a route that winds through the historic center of Matino. Visitors, glass in hand, move from one stand to another, sampling the great reds of Salento—above all Primitivo and Negroamaro—as well as rosés, whites, and sparkling wines, in a journey through labels from small family estates to more established wineries. The wines are accompanied by the flavors of Salento's gastronomy.

Music, Tradition, and Conviviality

Beyond the tastings, Borgo DiVino offers live music in the alleys, with concerts and bands ranging from Salento's pizzica to folk and world music, enlivening the evenings until late. The result is a widespread festival that enhances the historical and cultural identity of Matino, turning the village into an open-air lounge where one can move freely between one tasting and the next.

Organization and Territory

The event is organized by the Pro Loco Sant'Ermete APS in collaboration with the Municipality of Matino. For 2026, the event is part of the "Sapori e Paesaggi di Matino" project, which ranked first in the Lecce provincial rankings and is funded by the Apulia Region: a recognition of the growth of a festival capable of attracting visitors from all over Salento to the historic center.

Where it takes place

The stage for the event is the historic center of Matino, with Piazza San Giorgio and its surrounding alleys as the heart of the route. Matino is located in central Salento, a short distance from Gallipoli, Nardò, and the Ionian coast, in an ideal position to combine the festival with a holiday between the sea and the hinterland.

Borgo DiVino Matino — edition 2026

Two evenings dedicated to Salento wine, with a trail of wineries through the village alleys, over 80 labels for tasting — from Primitivo to Negroamaro — local products, and live music. The event is part of the "Sapori e Paesaggi di Matino" project funded by the Apulia Region.
