Borgate dal Vivo is one of the most original summer festivals in Piedmont: its formula brings concerts, theatre, and live performances to alpine villages and the most evocative historic sites in the Susa Valley, under the slogan "the biggest festival in the smallest places." Founded in 2016 and organized by the Revejo association, it reaches its 11th edition in 2026, running from June 26 to August 29, with over 35 events spread across fourteen municipalities in the provinces of Turin and Cuneo.

The Forte di Exilles, a stage among the mountains

In the municipality of Exilles, in the province of Turin, the festival chooses the Forte di Exilles as its setting—an imposing fortress that dominates the upper Susa Valley and stands as one of the most important fortified complexes in the Alps. Attending a show within its walls, at sunset and under the stars, is an experience that blends live art, historical heritage, and mountain landscapes.

The 2026 program in Exilles

For the 2026 edition, the Forte di Exilles will host two major evenings:

• Thursday, July 30, 2026 — a concert by Bandakadabra, the famous "urban brass band" from Turin made up of horns and percussion, an overwhelming ensemble that has performed hundreds of times at Italian and European festivals and collaborated with artists like Vinicio Capossela.
• Friday, August 7, 2026 — the theatrical performance "Difensore d'ufficio", based on the work by John Mortimer, an evening of spoken word and acting within the walls of the Fort.

A widespread and sustainable festival

The evenings in Exilles are part of a broader program that touches on fascinating locations such as the Roman amphitheatre of Susa, the Castle of Susa, the Castles of Lagnasco, and the former Musso Barracks in Saluzzo, featuring big names from the Italian scene alongside emerging artists. Alongside the programming, Borgate dal Vivo runs the "Borgate in Cammino" project, which combines trekking with nature guides and performances along the valley trails: the itineraries include a route connecting Salbertrand to Exilles. The festival is recognized as an eco-sustainable event (Eco Certified Events by Legambiente) and supports solidarity and reforestation projects.
