The punk, rock, and indie music festival on the Apennines of Apecchio
The Big Bell Sounds Festival is the musical event that ignites Apecchio every summer, a small town in the province of Pesaro e Urbino, nestled in the Marche Apennines and recognized as an Orange Flag by the Touring Club Italiano as well as "First Beer Town in Italy". The festival is dedicated to punk, rock, and indie music and has transformed the terrace of Palazzo Ubaldini, in the historic center, into an open-air stage.
The festival was born from the vision of Mirco Donini and is now organized with Luca Morganti, the driving forces behind the Circolo ARCI di Apecchio. In just a few years, the event has grown to attract international artists: in the 2025 edition, the absolute star was Marky Ramone, the legendary drummer of the Ramones, who participated with a DJ set, a talk on the history of punk rock, and an immersive exhibition. Alongside the headliners, emerging bands and local groups perform, with space also dedicated to exhibitions and in-depth discussions.
What makes the Big Bell Sounds unique is its formula that blends live concerts, talks with the artists, and installations, all within the intimate setting of the Apecchio village. It's an opportunity to discover an authentic corner of the inland Marche region, enjoying the craft beers that have made the town famous and the music that fills the summer evenings.
Visiting the festival is also a great reason to explore Apecchio and its valley: the town is famous for its microclimate ideal for brewing and its mountain village atmosphere, just a few kilometers from Monte Nerone. A destination that combines nature, gastronomy, and a vibrant music scene, supported by local associations.
The Big Bell Sounds Festival 2026 will take place on Saturday, August 29, 2026, in Apecchio, province of Pesaro and Urbino, starting at 6:30 PM on the terrace of Palazzo Ubaldini. The event is part of the Municipality's official event calendar and is curated by the Circolo ARCI of Apecchio.
Following previous editions dedicated to punk, rock, and indie, 2026 also promises an evening of live concerts in the charming setting of the historic center. The detailed program with artists will be announced by the organizers on the official channels in the weeks preceding the event.
