Between Music & Arts Festival

Fifth edition, theme "Confini-Insieme"

The 5th edition of the Between Music & Arts Festival is held from July 1st to 5th, 2026, under the artistic direction of Stefano Mastruzzi and Roberto Grossi. The theme "Confini-Insieme" runs through the entire program, placing the Mediterranean at the center as a space for dialogue, creativity, and cross-cultural encounter. The festival is produced by the Archaeological Park of Morgantina and the Villa Romana del Casale in partnership with Globart ETS and the Saint Louis College of Music.

Mazzarino in the spotlight on July 3rd at dawn

The Mazzarino event is scheduled for July 3rd in the Sofiana archaeological area, where the festival presents an evocative sunrise musical event at the first light of dawn, performed by young musicians from the Campus Musica coordinated by the Saint Louis College of Music.

July 1st — Inauguration, Villa Romana del Casale (Piazza Armerina)

• 7:00 PM: Festival opening
• Photography exhibition "Odisseo in Alto Mare" by Barbara Luisi
• Dance performance "Penelope, Parla Tu!" with Giulia Tonelli
• Concert "La Grande Musica Italiana Oltre i Confini" with Danilo Rea (piano) and Luciano Biondini (accordion)

July 3rd — Sofiana Archaeological Area (Mazzarino)

• At dawn (6:00 AM): Sunrise musical performance with young musicians from the Campus Musica coordinated by the Saint Louis College of Music, featuring Margherita Flore and videos created by Campus Cinema participants

July 3rd (evening) — Piazza Duomo (Piazza Armerina)

• "Mediterranean Mosaik" with Ziad Trabelsi & Carthage Mosaik Band, Yasemin Sannino, and Houcine Ataa: a blend of Mediterranean, North African, Middle Eastern, and European musical traditions

July 4th — Archaeological Museum of Aidone

• Concert "Parientes" with Javier Girotto, Natalio Mangalavite, and Peppe Servillo

July 5th — Piazza Duomo (Piazza Armerina)

• Closing evening with the results of the international artistic production campus (music and short films)
• Performance by the MusicaInsieme Orchestra with singer-songwriter Francesca Feci

Where

The Mazzarino event takes place in the Sofiana archaeological area (the ancient Philosophiana), in the Province of Caltanissetta. Other festival events are held in Piazza Armerina (Villa Romana del Casale, Palazzo Trigona, the former convent of Sant'Anna, Piazza Duomo) and Aidone (Archaeological Museum).

How to get there

Mazzarino can be reached by car via the SS117bis and the provincial roads connecting Central Sicily; the Sofiana area is located in the countryside between Mazzarino and Piazza Armerina. From the A19 Palermo-Catania motorway, take the exit for Enna or Caltanissetta. The nearest train stations are in Enna and Caltanissetta.

Tips

The sunrise concert requires arriving well in advance during the early morning hours: comfortable clothing and a flashlight are recommended. It is well worth combining your visit with the Sofiana archaeological area and the nearby Villa Romana del Casale.
