Four nights of music and entertainment in Piazza Torre di Berta, Sansepolcro
The Berta Music Festival is one of the most anticipated summer events in Sansepolcro, an art city in the Valtiberina valley in the province of Arezzo, in the heart of Tuscany. The festival takes place in the scenic Piazza Torre di Berta, the town's central square that gives the event its name, specially set up with a stage and grandstands to welcome the large audience.
Established in 2023 by the I Citti del Fare association, the festival has grown with each edition to become a key cultural reference point for the summer, attracting spectators from across the valley and neighboring provinces.
The Berta Music Festival offers a proven formula that alternates concert nights with live performance moments. The lineup features big names in Italian pop music and singer-songwriting, alongside an evening dedicated to comedy and theater, creating a program designed for the whole family and every type of audience.
All shows are held in the square, typically starting in the early evening, offering the unique atmosphere of the illuminated historic center during the warm nights of late August.
In previous editions, the festival has hosted prominent national artists such as Edoardo Bennato, Max Gazzè, Cristiano De André, and Alex Britti, as well as comedy shows and the now-traditional Canzonissima evening, which showcases local talent alongside a local band. This focus on the local scene, combined with the presence of national stars, is one of the event's hallmarks.
Attending the Berta Music Festival is also a perfect opportunity to discover Sansepolcro, the birthplace of Piero della Francesca, with its elegant historic center, Renaissance palaces, and the famous Civic Museum. The event is part of the wider summer calendar of the Municipality and represents one of the highlights of the cultural summer in the Valtiberina.
The Berta Music Festival returns to Sansepolcro for its fifth edition with four evenings in Piazza Torre di Berta, from August 28th to 31st, 2026. All shows start at 9:15 PM.
Sansepolcro is located in the Valtiberina, in the far east of Tuscany. By car, it can be reached via the E45 (Sansepolcro exit) or the Arezzo-Sansepolcro highway (E78). The Sansepolcro train station is served by the Sansepolcro-Perugia-Terni line. The nearest airport is Perugia, followed by Florence.
Tickets can be purchased online via the TicketSms platform or at local sales points (the I Citti del Fare headquarters and Casa Berta, in the center of Sansepolcro). A season pass for all evenings is available.
The shows take place outdoors in the square: we recommend arriving early to find your seat and bringing a light jacket for the evening. Numerous accommodation options are available in the city and throughout the Valtiberina area.
