Beer Life: craft beer in the heart of Plan de Corones

Beer Life is the summer event celebrating South Tyrolean brewing culture in the park of Valdaora di Mezzo (Mitterolang), in the municipality of Valdaora/Olang, in the province of Bolzano (Trentino-Alto Adige). Every year, at the beginning of July, the park transforms into a welcoming beer garden where enthusiasts can discover and taste products from local breweries in a relaxed atmosphere under the trees at the foot of the Dolomites.

A tasting journey through South Tyrolean breweries

The heart of the event is the tasting stands set up by South Tyrolean breweries, showcasing their craft and industrial beers: from the historic Forst productions to craft realities like Batzen Bräu, Rienzbräu, Harpf, Gustahr, Mount Becher, and Hubenbauer. Visitors can curate their own tasting journey, comparing styles, aromas, and the characteristics of different labels.

More than just beer: krapfen and Genussbunker cheeses

Beer Life is also a gastronomic experience. Local farmers prepare traditional krapfen and other sweet and savory specialties, while the Genussbunker offers a selection of raw milk cheeses carefully aged in South Tyrol's former military bunkers. These mature cheeses, the result of founder Hubert Stockner's research among small dairies and alpine huts, pair perfectly with the beers on offer for a conscious tasting experience.

Live music and a convivial atmosphere

The evening is accompanied by live music, with performances and entertainment providing the soundtrack to the tastings. The Mitterolang park becomes a meeting place where residents and guests of the Plan de Corones/Kronplatz holiday region gather to spend an evening dedicated to conviviality.

A sustainable event: GreenEvent certification

Beer Life is a certified GreenEvent, an initiative by the Provincial Agency for the Environment and Climate Protection. Sustainable mobility is at the heart of the project: organizers encourage arriving on foot, by bicycle (with ample dedicated parking), and via public transport, thanks to bus connections and the Citybus that stops directly in the center of Valdaora di Mezzo. The event is traditionally held the day after its twin event, Wine Life, which is dedicated to wine.
