About Ballinsé Beach

Ballinsé Beach is an international festival celebrating dance, music, and folk culture. Every late spring, it transforms Marina di Chieuti—the seaside district of Chieuti in the province of Foggia—into a vibrant crossroads of rhythm, melody, and community. An extension of the Panni-based 'Ballinsé' project, this four-day event on the Adriatic coast of Puglia features sunrise concerts, folk dance workshops, singing seminars, theater, and community gatherings, all centered around the concept of 'Restanza' and the motto #liberidanzare.

Ballinsé Beach: A celebration of sound and roots on the Daunian coast

Every year, as spring draws to a close, Marina di Chieuti—the seaside hamlet of Chieuti, located at the northern tip of the Foggia province where Puglia meets Molise and Campania—hosts Ballinsé Beach, an international festival of dance, music, and folk culture. For four days, the beach and the grounds of the Hotel Residence Milano, just steps from the Adriatic Sea, become a temporary village where traditional dance, live music, and cultural exchange blend under the sun and stars of the Gargano.

A project born in Panni, among the Daunian Mountains

Ballinsé was founded in 2022 in Panni, a small village in the Daunian Mountains, by Rocco Gesualdi and the association Rione Popolare APS. Alongside the summer event in the mountains, the festival launched its seaside version: Ballinsé Beach, which brings the experience to the Chieuti coast while keeping its original spirit intact. The heart of the event is the Rione Popolare, a true cultural village featuring dance workshops, music masterclasses, thematic meetings, and local crafts.

Folk dance, pizzica, and cultural encounters

The program weaves together sunrise concerts, folk dance workshops, singing seminars, theater performances, and spontaneous artistic displays. The event also includes book presentations, Feldenkrais Method and Reiki seminars, and moments of shared connection. Chieuti is one of the historic Arbëreshë (Italo-Albanian) communities of the Capitanata, founded in the 15th century by Albanian refugees; encounters with this community and its rich heritage of songs and dances are an integral part of the festival's soul.

Restanza: Staying, transforming, welcoming

Ballinsé embraces the concept of Restanza: the choice to live in and transform one's own land through openness and exchange. With the hashtags #liberidanzare and #freedbedancing, the festival champions inclusivity and freedom of expression as its core values. The event is entirely self-funded and supported by the patronage of Puglia Culture, the Municipality of Chieuti, and the Municipality of Panni.

An immersive experience in Puglia

More than just a concert series, Ballinsé Beach is an immersive experience: guests arrive in Marina di Chieuti, stay in the residence's apartments, share meals, and spend their days between the beach, the pool, and the workshop spaces. It is a unique way to kick off the Puglian summer, surrounded by folk music, the sea, and a strong sense of community in one of the most authentic and lesser-known corners of the Adriatic coast in the province of Foggia.

Ballinsé Beach — edition 2026

The 2026 edition of Ballinsé Beach in Marina di Chieuti has not yet been officially announced. The international festival of dance, music, and folk culture typically takes place between late May and early June on the coast of the Municipality of Chieuti (Province of Foggia). Dates, program, and artists will be communicated by the organizers, Rione Popolare APS.

At the moment, the organizers of Rione Popolare APS have not yet published the official dates for the 2026 edition of Ballinsé Beach in Marina di Chieuti. Based on previous years, the seaside event usually takes place between late May and early June.

To find out the dates, program, folk dance workshops, and line-up as soon as they are announced, we recommend following the festival's official channels (website ballinse.com and social media pages) or contacting the organization directly. This page will be updated with the detailed program once it is made public.
