The Patronal Feast of Bagnolo

In the village of Bagnolo, part of the Montemurlo municipality in the province of Prato, the patronal feast in honor of Santa Maria Maddalena de' Pazzi is one of the most cherished events on the local religious and civil calendar. Santa Maria Maddalena de' Pazzi, a 16th-century Carmelite mystic from Florence, is the patron saint of the Bagnolo community. The parish, named after the saint, preserves and passes on her memory through a feast that celebrates her figure every year with prayer, music, and moments of cultural reflection. The solemn procession

Verdi Philharmonic of Montemurlo and the Montemurlo Historical Group, who march in period costumes, lending the event a unique charm. The route follows via Montalese, via Giotto, via Cimabue, via Orcagna, via Tiepolo, via Pier della Francesca, and via Vasari before returning to the church.

Holy Mass and conviviality

At the end of the procession, a solemn Holy Mass is celebrated in the parish church, serving as the central moment of community devotion. The day concludes with a social gathering in the parish grounds, an opportunity for meeting and celebration for the entire Bagnolo community. In past editions, the feast has also included events dedicated to children and catechism students, confirming the intergenerational nature of the event.
