The Queen of the Table: Trout

In Bagnarola, a hamlet of Sesto al Reghena in the province of Pordenone, one of the most beloved gastronomic festivals in western Friuli has been celebrated since 1991: the Trout Festival. The absolute protagonist is trout, farmed and prepared in all its variations: pâté, gnocchi, smoked trout, "trout alla boscaiola" (woodcutter-style trout), and mixed grill, accompanied by local wines, beer, and specialties from the food stalls. On weekends, spit-roasted chicken is also available, among the most requested dishes.

Music, Orchestras, and Youth Evenings

In addition to gastronomy, the Trout Festival is famous for its rich musical program. Evenings feature alternating performances by the great traditional dance orchestras from Friuli and Veneto, free concerts by well-known Italian artists, and the Kiosc'on youth area, open every evening with cocktails, music, guests, and DJ sets. Among the cult events are the Trototom reggae festival and themed evenings.

A Festival for Twelve Thousand Visitors

With over thirty years of history and around twelve thousand visitors per edition, the Trout Festival is a landmark event in the Pordenone festival calendar. Organized by the local associations of Bagnarola, it is the result of the work of hundreds of volunteers who transform the hamlet into a grand celebration every year.

Sesto al Reghena, Land of Abbeys

The festival takes place in the municipality of Sesto al Reghena, famous for its Benedictine Abbey of Santa Maria in Sylvis, one of the most important monuments in Friuli. A setting that combines popular celebration with the charm of a land rich in history and nature, along the course of the Reghena river.
