The food and wine festival that paints the Avola seafront pink
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Pink Night is one of the most anticipated events of the Avola summer. It takes place on Lungomare Pantanello, the seafront of Avola, a town in the province of Syracuse famous for its unique hexagonal urban layout and its exceptional food products. For one night, the promenade is bathed in pink light, music, and the aromas of local cuisine, drawing residents and tourists into a festive atmosphere overlooking the Ionian Sea.
The soul of the event is local food and wine culture. Along the coastline, food stalls and street food stations are set up, offering fish tastings, live cooking shows, and the chance to sample typical local products. Avola is a land of flavors recognized throughout Italy: from the prized Avola almond to the famous Nero d'Avola grape variety, both stars of the tables and glasses during this evening.
Alongside the food, the Pink Night offers a rich program of folkloric, musical, and entertainment shows. In past editions, the stage on the seafront has hosted concerts, cover bands, and artists from the local and Sicilian scene, often featuring the town band and a grand finale with a fireworks display over the sea.
The Pink Night is part of the Municipality of Avola's summer calendar, which is packed with events ranging from entertainment and culture to traditions and festivals dedicated to fish and local produce. It is the perfect opportunity to discover this corner of the province of Syracuse in Sicily, combining a stroll along the seafront with the discovery of local gastronomic specialties.
The 2026 edition of the Pink Night is expected on the Lungomare Pantanello in Avola, in line with the tradition that has enlivened the city's summer for years. At the moment, the dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been officially announced and the detailed program has not been published.
Based on previous editions, the evening is expected to feature the tried-and-tested formula: food stalls and fish tastings, live cooking shows, street food, and typical products like the almond and Nero d'Avola wine, accompanied by folk and musical performances. For definitive dates and the program, it is recommended to follow the official Pink Night Avola Facebook page and the Municipality of Avola's channels.
Avola is located along the south-eastern coast of Sicily, in the province of Syracuse. By car, it can be reached via the A18/SS115 motorway; the Avola exit is just a few minutes from the town center. By train, the Avola station is served by the Syracuse-Gela line. The Pink Night takes place on Lungomare Pantanello, in the seaside area of the city.
The event is held in summer, generally in July or August. The dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been officially announced: it is advisable to check them on the official Pink Night Avola Facebook page and the Municipality's channels.
Access to the seafront and the shows is free; tastings and products at the food stalls are available for purchase.
