A local festival blending taste and solidarity

The Avisina Festival and Fish Festival in Giardinetto is one of the most anticipated summer events in the village of Giardinetto, located in the municipality of Castelletto Monferrato, in the Province of Alessandria and the heart of the Piedmontese Monferrato. For nearly three decades, the event has drawn locals and food lovers every late June, transforming the Area verde Geom. Franco Ricaldone into a vibrant open-air meeting point.

The Fish Festival

The highlight of the event is the Fish Festival: under the covered marquees, food stalls serve a wide array of seafood specialties, from fried fish to classic seafood dishes, alongside mixed meat grills and other local delicacies. The menu is designed to please every palate in the convivial and informal atmosphere typical of Piedmontese village festivals. Kitchens generally open at 7:30 PM and service continues throughout the evening.

Music, dance, and tradition

After dinner, the festivities continue with dance evenings: every night, starting at 9:30 PM, orchestras specializing in ballroom and dance music take the stage, inviting guests of all ages to the dance floor. Over the years, the program has also featured vintage car and Ferrari rallies, historic tractor exhibitions, and re-enactments of ancient trades, making the festival a journey into the rural heritage of Monferrato.

The heart of AVIS solidarity

The event was born and continues to grow around the AVIS branch of Castelletto Monferrato (the Italian Blood Volunteers Association), in collaboration with the Pro Loco of Giardinetto. Beyond the entertainment, the festival maintains a strong social purpose: raising community awareness about the importance of blood donation and supporting the association's activities. It is a winning formula that, edition after edition, continues to draw capacity crowds.
