About ArtiGusto

ArtiGusto is the Bagheria festival celebrating two iconic symbols of the region: the Sicilian cart, a masterpiece of island folklore and artistry, and the lemon of the Piana di Bagheria, a historic local agricultural treasure. Set within the 18th-century grounds of Villa Aragona-Cutò in the province of Palermo, the event weaves together culture, gastronomy, entertainment, and tradition through exhibitions, talks, art workshops, recitals, tastings, show cooking, and a large, free-entry Food Village.

ArtiGusto, the soul of Sicily in Bagheria

ArtiGusto is the festival in Bagheria, near Palermo, that captures the soul of Sicily through culture, fine food, entertainment, and folk traditions. The event aims to showcase the historical, artistic, and agricultural heritage of the Piana di Bagheria, focusing on two defining elements: the Sicilian cart, which has become an artistic and folkloric icon of the island, and the lemon of the Piana di Bagheria, a cornerstone of the local economy for generations.

The setting: Villa Aragona-Cutò

The event takes place within the grounds of Villa Aragona-Cutò, one of Bagheria's most significant historic residences. Spanning the lower floors and outdoor areas of this 18th-century villa, the festival highlights the famous Baroque villa system that has made Bagheria renowned throughout Sicily, helping the public discover and experience this unique heritage.

Culture, craftsmanship, and tradition

The program features exhibitions dedicated to Sicilian carts, talks on the history of the carts and lemon quality certifications, art workshops on cart painting, and recitals narrating island traditions. A strong emphasis is placed on popular culture and the rural memory of the Piana, creating a journey that connects identity, history, and innovation.

The Food Village

The delicious heart of the event is the Food Village, home to traditional Bagheria sfincione, Ape pizza, street food, gourmet creations by Sicilian chefs, gelato, lemon granita, and craft beer. Show cooking sessions and guided tastings explore the thousand culinary transformations of the Bagheria lemon, from refreshing granitas to signature desserts.

A local project

ArtiGusto is organized by the La Piana d'Oro Association, the Slow Food Bagheria Convivium, and R&T, in collaboration with APO Sicilia and under the patronage of the Municipality of Bagheria and the regional departments for Productive Activities and Cultural Heritage. The initiative builds a bridge between memory, innovation, and regional development, establishing itself as one of the most vibrant cultural and gastronomic events in Western Sicily.
