The gastronomic village of the San Giuseppe Patronal Feast
The Casteldaccia Street Food Fest is one of the most beloved summer events in the municipality of Casteldaccia, in the Province of Palermo, Sicily. The festival is deeply rooted in the celebrations in honor of San Giuseppe, the town's patron saint, organized by the San Giuseppe Festival Committee. For a few days in August, the historic center turns into a true gastronomic village, with numerous stalls set up along Via Pedone, Via San Giuseppe, and Piazza Orifici.
The heart of the festival is the island's traditional street food. Among the stalls, you can savor the most iconic specialties of Sicilian popular cuisine:
The Street Food Fest is about more than just food. On festival evenings, the center of Casteldaccia comes alive with roaming performers, street artist parades, folk groups, and drummers marching through the streets. The main square hosts live music, comedy shows, and entertainment for all ages, culminating in a disco under the stars. Of course, the spectacular fireworks that light up the summer sky are an essential part of the patronal feast tradition.
Every year, the event draws residents and visitors from neighboring towns, blending the religious significance of the San Giuseppe feast with a convivial, popular vibe. The Street Food Fest is a perfect opportunity to rediscover authentic Sicilian flavors and experience the warm, welcoming atmosphere of a town in celebration, right in the heart of the Casteldaccia summer.
The 2026 Casteldaccia Street Food Fest will take place from August 21st to 24th, 2026, confirming its status as one of the most anticipated gastronomic events of the summer in the Province of Palermo.
