ArtigianGusto: crafts and street food at the Villa Comunale

Every spring, ArtigianGusto brings three days of excellence to the Villa Comunale San Lorenzo in Mugnano di Napoli, celebrating the perfect pairing of high-quality craftsmanship and street food. The formula is simple and effective: the public park's pathways are lined with stalls and gazebos, featuring exhibitors with their creations on one side and food stations with grills, ovens, and tasting counters on the other. It makes for a leisurely stroll where you can sample delicacies and chat with the makers.

The flavors: Campanian specialties and street food

The culinary heart of the event is its street food. Stalls offer southern Italian classics alongside dishes from other regions: arrosticini, wood-fired pizza, buffalo mozzarella, and caciocavallo impiccato (melted over embers and served on warm bread). Alongside the hot food, you will find vendors selling local products, including preserves, sweets, cheeses, and cured meats to take home.

Craftsmanship: artistic trades and handmade creations

The exhibition area brings together artisans and creators working with wood, ceramics, textiles, leather, and metal, as well as costume jewelry, home decor, and small-scale artistic productions. It is a showcase that gives space to local workshops and hobbyists from the Neapolitan hinterland, who are often hard to find outside of such events; for the public, it is a chance to buy unique pieces and see the creative process up close.

Music, shows, and family appeal

ArtigianGusto is more than just a market. Past editions have featured musical performances and activities designed for children: in 2024, for instance, the Friday opening featured the Gran Concerto Bandistico dell'Orchestra di Fiati Città di Sperone (AV), followed by live music in the evening, while Saturday hosted the national Mister and Miss Italia Baby competition for children aged 3 to 15. The overall atmosphere is that of a contemporary village festival, perfect for families and groups of friends.

A format signed by A.M.I.P.

The event is organized by the A.M.I.P. association, which specializes in events and markets, based on a format created by Gino De Letteriis, and is held with the patronage of the Municipality of Mugnano di Napoli. The collaboration between the association and the municipal administration allows the use of the public villa as an event space, restoring its role as a town square for a few days in a green area highly frequented by residents.

Mugnano di Napoli is a municipality in the Metropolitan City of Naples, in Campania, located a few kilometers north of the regional capital in a densely populated area that includes Melito, Calvizzano, and Marano. In this highly urbanized context, the Villa Comunale San Lorenzo is one of the main public green spaces and the natural venue for community gatherings: events like ArtigianGusto turn it into the center of town life for a few days, providing a direct boost to local businesses.

When it takes place

The event is traditionally scheduled in April, over a long three-day weekend: documented editions were held from April 19 to 21, 2024, and April 19 to 21, 2025, the latter coinciding with the Easter holidays. The dates for the new edition are usually announced a few weeks in advance through the organization's social media channels and the Municipality's pages; it is therefore advisable to check them before traveling.
