Aromatica - Festival of Aromatic Herbs

Aromatica, the festival of scents from the Ponente

Born in 2013, Aromatica has become the main food and wine festival of the Riviera dei Fiori. The event is held in Diano Marina, in the province of Imperia, and is promoted by the Golfo Dianese, the union of the seven municipalities overlooking the bay: the festival celebrates aromatic herbs, extra virgin olive oil, wine, and the food and wine excellences of Liguria and the Mediterranean diet.

What to experience at Aromatica

For three days, the center of Diano Marina fills with stands, producer markets, tasting areas, and stages dedicated to live cooking. The program combines cooking shows with chefs and well-known personalities, communal dinners in local restaurants, workshops, meetings, and guided tastings. A typical edition features over a hundred producers, dozens of culinary events, and thousands of visitors from all over the region.

Aromatic herbs and the Mediterranean diet

The common thread is that of aromatic herbs, a true heritage of western Liguria, and the products that symbolize them: basil, Taggiasca extra virgin olive oil, Vermentino, and the wines of the Gulf. Aromatica tells a story of Liguria made of terraces, vegetable gardens, and agricultural tradition, and turns it into an experience to be lived by strolling among the stalls and tasting.

A festival for the entire Golfo Dianese

The strength of Aromatica lies in the network of the seven municipalities of the Golfo Dianese (Diano Marina, Diano Castello, Diano Arentino, Diano San Pietro, San Bartolomeo al Mare, Cervo, Villa Faraldi), which make the event a territory-wide affair and not just confined to one square. The festival is now a fixed fixture on the spring calendar of the Ligurian Riviera.
