A spring weekend of flowers, plants, and tradition in the heart of Argenta
When gardens bloom again, the historic center of Argentaโa municipality in the Province of Ferrara, Emilia-Romagnaโcelebrates with Fiori d'Argenta, the exhibition-market dedicated to flowers, plants, and greenery. For an entire weekend, the town's squares fill with colors, scents, and stalls from nursery gardeners and florists, transforming the city center into a vast, widespread garden. It's the event that officially marks the arrival of good weather in the lower Ferrara plain.
The heart of the event is Piazza Garibaldi, which hosts the flower and plant exhibition-market. From there, the festival spreads through the center: Piazza Marconi houses the refreshment area, association stands, and events, while Piazza Mazzini hosts the "Genuino" market with local produce. There's also a craft market and the Volunteer Village, along with special zero-km aperitifs at the town's bars.
Fiori d'Argenta is much more than a simple horticultural fair. The program includes creative workshops, nature excursions in the picturesque Argenta Valleys, conferences on topics ranging from astronomy to well-being, book presentations, and musical performances. Families have dedicated areas for children, with games, a children's market, and food education activities. The cultural offerings at the Mercato Centro Culturale, with exhibitions, conferences, and presentations, are also extensive.
The initiative, promoted by the Municipality of Argenta with coordination from the Volunteer Service Center and collaboration with local associations, aims to enhance the town's so-called "natural shopping center": shops and businesses that, during the weekend, interact with the exhibition-market stalls. Falling close to April 25th (Liberation Day), the festival combines the celebration of spring with events dedicated to the memory of the Liberation, including bike rides and themed meetings.
For those seeking an outdoor weekend filled with nature, good food, and culture, Fiori d'Argenta is a perfect opportunity to discover an authentic corner of Emilia-Romagna, far from the usual tourist routes. The Argenta Valleys, a valuable natural oasis, provide an ideal backdrop to the event and enrich the visit with guided excursions.
The 2026 edition of Fiori d'Argenta enlivened the historic center on the weekend of April 25th and 26th, coinciding with Liberation Day celebrations. The flower and plant exhibition-market was held in Piazza Garibaldi, alongside the "Genuino" market in Piazza Mazzini, the refreshment area and association stands in Piazza Marconi, as well as the craft market and the "Semi di Futuro" Volunteer Village. The program combined cultural activities, children's workshops, nature excursions in the Argenta Valleys, and musical moments, all with free admission.
Argenta is located along the SS 16 Adriatica state road, about 35 km from Ferrara and Ravenna. By car, it can be reached from the Ferrara Sud exit of the A13 motorway or via the junction with the SS 16. The nearest train station is Argenta on the Ferrara-Ravenna line. The event takes place in the historic center, which is accessible on foot from the town's parking areas.
The exhibitions and stalls are open continuously, approximately from 8:30 AM to 8:00 PM. Admission to the event is free.
