Three days of Celts, Etruscans, and Romans at Parco Pertini
The Arezzo Celtic Festival is a major historical and cultural re-enactment that brings Parco Pertini to life every summer along Viale Giotto, in the heart of Arezzo, Tuscany. For three days, the urban park transforms into a village set in ancient Italy, ideally placed around 256 BC, when Celts, Etruscans, and Romans coexisted in the region. The event is organized by the Cerchio delle Antiche Vie Association and was created to keep the memory of Lughnasadh alive, the ancient Celtic festival that marked the beginning of the harvest season.
The heart of the festival is the encampment area, brought to life by re-enactment groups from all over Italy. Visitors can stroll through reconstructions of Celtic, Etruscan, and Roman settlements, observe the clothing, weapons, and everyday objects of ancient peoples, and participate in hands-on, recreational, and educational activities designed for all ages. There is no shortage of spectacular moments, such as the costumed battle, the sacred fire lighting ceremony by the druids, and the evocative re-enactment of a Celtic wedding.
In the evening, the festival lights up with a rich entertainment program: Irish dance performances, tribal dance displays, juggling, and fire shows, accompanied by live Celtic music featuring harps, bagpipes, percussion, and flutes. Over the years, groups and artists dedicated to the Celtic and pagan repertoire have taken the stage, creating an atmosphere that recalls ancient worlds and fantasy vibes.
Along the park's pathways, you will find craft markets with products inspired by Celtic and medieval traditions, while food stalls offer ancient cuisine and typical recipes from the Casentino area and the province of Arezzo, accompanied by historical drinks like mead. It is an opportunity to discover unusual flavors and handmade objects created by artisans.
With over fifty initiatives including shows, workshops, and educational moments, the Arezzo Celtic Festival is designed to engage both adults and children. Little ones can participate in themed workshops, druidic storytelling, and games, while history and Celtic culture enthusiasts will find a rich and immersive program. Admission is free, making it one of the most beloved summer events for the city of Arezzo and visitors to Tuscany.
The Arezzo Celtic Festival 2026 will take place from July 31st to August 2nd, 2026, at Parco Pertini in Arezzo, with free admission.
