The spring market fair in the heart of Monferrato

The April Fair is one of the five major market fairs that mark the year in Casale Monferrato, in the province of Alessandria. Together with the fairs in March, August, November, and December, it represents a commercial and social ritual deeply rooted in the city's life. When spring arrives, the Piazzale Divisione Meccanizzata Mantova and the adjacent Piazza Castello transform into a large open-air shopping space, where dozens of stalls welcome locals and visitors in search of deals.

The April Fair is a mixed commercial fair, combining food and non-food sectors. Strolling through the stalls, you will find the typical goods of a town market:

The April Fair is traditionally held on the Tuesday that falls between April 8th and 14th each year, with continuous hours from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM. As it is a weekday morning event, it is best to arrive early: by noon, the stalls often begin to pack up. The setting is the elegant Casale Monferrato, the historic capital of the Monferrato region and a city of art overlooking the Po River.
